In her pregame talk “More than Money: Less than Sex,” University Distinguished Professor Nikki Giovanni will explore what poetry brings to life.

Members of the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences community are all invited to a Pregame HokieTalk by University Distinguished Professor Nikki Giovanni on Saturday, November 17, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Assembly Hall in the Holtzman Alumni Center. Giovanni’s talk, “More Than Money: Less Than Sex,” will explore what poetry brings to life.

Preceding Giovanni’s talk will be one by Matthew Hulver, head of the Department of Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, who will discuss transforming human health through metabolism and obesity research.

The college’s faculty, staff, students, and alumni are also invited to the college’s tailgate later that day at the Hahn Horticulture Garden. The tailgate, which will start three hours before the Virginia Tech Hokies take on the Miami Hurricanes, will feature a buffet, wine and beer, live music, games, door prizes, and giveaways.

The tailgate is free for faculty, staff, and their guests, but registration by November 9 is required. Registration also offers the opportunity to purchase game tickets at $85 each.
