Ellen Cheever stands beside materials in her recently donated collection of publications spanning her career in the kitchen and bath industry. Behind her, still under construction at the time, is the library space that now houses her collection.

Ellen Cheever Collection to Provide Inspiration to New Kitchen and Bath Designers

When kitchen and bath designer Ellen Cheever helped conceptualize the Center for Real Life Design at Virginia Tech in the early 1990s, she did not know it would one day house the breadth of her life’s work in a new library resource for students.
Rosemary Goss (center) and her husband, Bob, look astonished as realize that the gateway the Virginia Tech football team uses to enter Lane Stadium had been named in her honor. André Davis, a property management alumnus and retired National Football League wide receiver and kick returner, applauds in the background, while advisory board member Alice Fletcher (left) watches and a beaming Julia Beamish (standing behind Bob Goss), head of the Department of Apparel, Housing, and Resource Management, delights in her colleague’s response.

Rosemary Goss Surprised with Professorship Named in Her Honor

When Rosemary Goss helped create a new major, an advisory board, and a career fair, she knew they would all benefit students. What she did not know is that the same board and her department would continue the legacy in her name.
